Unity Gavel

On March 9th we made our last delivery for the current DDGM’s new unity gavel. It went to Clearwater Lodge. I would like to thank the nine (9) brothers who participated in this event. Unfortunately, thirteen (13) of Dunedin’s brothers were present so we were not able to bring the traveling gavel back to Sutherland. We did, however, have more first time visitors than Dunedin. It seems that the unity gavel is a success. If any of you new brothers have not visited other lodges I highly recommend checking one of them out. Visiting another lodge is a good way to experience the strong bond we have as Masons. You can walk into a room of strangers and feel like you have known the people there your whole life.

For those of you that did not hear, we hosted the March meeting for Masters and Wardens on the 17th. I am pleased to say Sutherland hospitality was flowing freely. Everyone I spoke with was very happy with the venue and we were able to maintain our reputation of providing excellent refreshment, thanks to our Junior Warden’s exceptional menu.
